July 30 - Daddy-Less

 

Daddy left on a business trip this morning.  We spent the day taking pictures of us doing silly things to make him smile.  Haze thought he was totally hilarious with the bug net on his head.  Then me & Andlie spent the afternoon doing science projects!

 

We finished the night by snapping a quick pic of what we were doing.  Bryan sent me one of the National Monument.  I sent him one of bath time.  (Who thinks our kids look really similar?)

July 29 - Targets Like Merida

 

Andlie has been very in to "Brave" lately.  She loves Merida, her bow & arrow, and speaking in a Scottish accent while saying, "Curse this dress!"  It comes out more like, "Cars theeeese daress!!"  Today we made "targets to match the ones on 'Brave'" at her request.  She was so proud of the way they turned out.  And so was I.

July 27 - Following Instructions

 

Went to a baseball game tonight.  Once the kids hit their attention span time limit of watching the game (which is about six minutes - tops), they started playing games.  (Note the Minnie Mouse sticker on Haze's leg.)  That's about when Andlie started giving Haze directions & expecting him to follow.  I caught him in this picture closing his eyes at her demand polite request.

July 26 - Last Day

 

My boss called me around the first of the month & told me, "It's time to end our professional relationship."  Today was the last day of that relationship.  Honestly, I was and am pretty shocked, but my long-term goals never involved working.  I am so grateful for the hard work of both me & Bryan that has enabled us to be at this point & be excited for the future!

 

It was a weird feeling putting the ol' work computer in a box to ship back to it's home, but I am so happy and excited to be a full-time Mommy & enjoy my babies while they are still little.

July 25 - By Herself

 

It got quiet in Andlie's room this morning.  When I went in to see what was going on, I found her dressing herself!  She picked out her own outfit & shoes and put them on (complete with an underwear change) and then went to the bathroom and brushed her teeth.  She finished by picking out the pink headband & placing it neatly in her hair.  She's getting so big!

July 24 - Pioneer Day

Bryan woke up & went to work.  (Lame.)

Me & kids woke up at 8:30 & sat around watching cartoons.  I looked up parade times at around 9 & realized there was one 20 minutes away at 9 AM. 

Rushed to the car (with no makeup on me and Andlie's hair not done) and made it to the parade at 9:45.

Sat at the end of the parade route and caught every single float & enjoyed the parade!  Perfect.

Came home & ate pizza for lunch.

I worked.  (Lame.)

Me & the kids made a handcart using only cardstock, markers, glue, and our imaginations!

Bryan came home & we ate dinner and then played baseball outside & played in our sandbox.

Went to the splash pad & toy store!

Bought & lit our own fireworks!

(Haze did okay for a while and then just jumped off my lap & bolted to the front door crying.)

Put our jammies on & headed out to watch the big city fireworks.

Made it just in time for them to start!  Watched & enjoyed big fireworks & came home to bed.
